Dr. Odette Ma

Veterinarian

Odette grew up in California where she earned two Bachelor's degrees simultaneously in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at the University of California, Irvine.  She worked as an SNC Lavalin engineer after completing her Master's in Biomedical Engineering at École Polytechnique de Montréal. While working as an engineer, she adopted her first bunny and shortly after started to volunteer for the Exotics Department at the Montreal SPCA, rediscovering the joy of being with animals.   As a veterinary student she spent her summers working in clinics that treat exotics animals and worked on small projects as an engineering consultant.  She completed a doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Montreal in the spring of 2019, joining Liesse Animal Clinic in the summer of 2020. In her spare time, she volunteers to rescue bunnies with Sauvetage Lapins Errants and getting to know birds at the Nichoir.  She is also a foster family for the Montreal SPCA, Sauvetage Lapins Errants and volunteers for special events with SPCA Roussillon. She currently shares her life with multiple companion and foster bunnies.
